Welcome to Ohio Youth Development (OYD), a non-profit organization founded in 2013 with a clear mission: to address the challenges posed by racial and economic injustices by offering vital out-of-school time programs for school-age children. Our driving force is the belief that empowering the next generation of leaders is essential to creating a more just and equitable society. 

OYD embarked on its journey in the summer of 2013, primarily focusing on life-skills activities tailored for elementary and middle school children. During this critical period, we provided essential math and reading support to ensure that children maintained and enhanced the knowledge they acquired during the school year, especially in reading. Additionally, we encouraged healthy habits by promoting physical activity and nutritious eating during the summer break.

In 2014, we achieved a significant milestone by being granted 501(C)(3) status. This designation enabled us to receive tax-deductible donations and grants, expanding our ability to make a positive impact.

From 2015 to 2018, our dedication to children's well-being led us to provide valuable healthy cooking lessons and basketball conditioning and training to students in grades three through eight.

Fast forward to 2018, and OYD has been committed to delivering after-school and summer programs right here in Columbus, Ohio. Our year-round programming at the Havenwood Townhome Leasing Office Clubhouse has been made possible thanks to the generous in-kind space provided by ACRE Management Company. 

We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support we've received from individuals, businesses, foundations, and local government agencies. It's these partnerships and contributions that have empowered us to continue serving at-risk children throughout Columbus, Ohio. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for our community, one child at a time.
